HACCS Manual

Using HACCS – Spuke Boy

Quick Guide

HACCS (Heroscape Army Creator and Card Searcher) is the result of two programs put together with many improvements made to it. Before HACCS, you needed the HCS (Heroscape Card Searcher) to search for Heroscape cards to then put them together into armies with the HAC (Heroscape Army Creator). Now you can do this with a better user interface and more features in HACCS.

The Quick Guide will show you how to use the basic functions of HACCS. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Search Cards

Before actually searching for anything, you will want to set which types of Heroscape and what kind of objects you want included in the results. To access those settings, click the Settings button in the top left corner of the window. You can select and deselect any types you want.

Create an Account

Certain features of HACCS require an account, such as creating custom figures or custom armies in the future. In this manual, those features will have an asterisk * linking to this section. You have to be signed in to use those features.

To create an account in HACCS, click the Sign in button at the top left of the window. This opens up the sign in window.

Clicking the Register button at the top lets you insert your desired username and your email address. An email is sent to the entered email address containing your initial password as soon as you hit the Enter key or click the Create account button. It might take a while until the email arrives and the email might land in your spam folder. In the case that it doesn't arrive at all, please contact me and I'll look into it.

Customization

Visual Theme

The visual theme can be changed through the settings menu by clicking the Settings button in the top left corner of the main window and changing the Theme. You can change it to any of the seven official Heroscape valkyrie:

The colors displayed in this list are applied to all header bars of the main panels and also of all pop up windows. Also, the search cards are changed to the valkyrie's respective card. Note that the selected theme is saved in a cookie and restored the next time you open HACCS.

Panel Sizes

The three panels can be changed in their width. Clicking and dragging the pink parts left and right in the next screen shot makes the panel sizes change accordingly. It is also possible to make the outer panes disappear completely by clicking the orange part. Note that the sizes of the panels are saved in a cookie and are restored the next time you open HACCS.

Pop up windows

There are many different pop up windows in HACCS, usually used to set settings or to get user input. A pop up can be closed without anything else happening by clicking the close button on the top right of the pop up or by clicking outside the pop up. Hitting the Esc key will also close the pop up.

Tables

Generally, tables in HACCS are sortable by clicking a column header in the table. You can set secondary columns for sorting by hitting the Shift key when clicking additional column headers.

HCS

The HCS is the Heroscape Card Searcher which gives you many options to search for any cards available in the database.

Database Stats

Per default, the HCS pane displays some stats of the cards in the database.

Searching for units
  1. SQL Wildcards: leaving this unchecked means that anything searched for will be compared to any part of the respective entry in the database. For example, searching for "gt. drak" in the name field will find both Sgt. Drake Alexanders. When searching for something with the SQL Wildcards checkbox checked, the program will try to match the entire inputted value with the database. For example, "drake" will not find anything, while "sgt. drake alexander" will. However, there are wildcards you can use: "%" can stand for any amount of characters, so "sgt%" will look for any names that start with "sgt". "_" stands for exactly one character.
  2. Name: Enter the name of a figure you want to search for. If you want to search for multiple names, separate the names by inserting a semicolon ";" in between. This works in all the other input fields, too.
  3. Valkyrie: Enter the valkyrie, comic universe, or star wars faction you want to search for.
  4. Species
  5. Rarity: Select of the rarities you want to search for. If you want to search for unique and uncommon units, select Unique + Uncommon.
  6. Type
  7. Class
  8. Personality
  9. Size
  10. Height: You have various options for inserting numbers: You can just insert the one number you're looking for, but you can also search for ranges of numbers, for example "<6;>=3" and "3-5" are identical.
  11. Special Powers
  12. Amount of tiles: Select how many tiles are on the card, for example if you are looking for a squad of 2.
  13. Amount of spaces: Select how many total spaces should be occupied by the objects on the card, for example if you are looking for double spaced figures.
  14. Life
  15. Move
  16. Range
  17. Attack
  18. Defense
  19. Points
  20. Power Ranking: Insert a power ranking or a range of power rankings as if they were numbers. These are the power rankings by spider_poison and Jexik from this thread.
  21. Custom Power Ranking: These are the C3V/SoV-inclusive power rankings by dok from this thread, the C3G power rankings by dok from this thread, and the HoSS power rankings from this thread.
  22. Type of glyph/destructible object: Enter something like "treasure", "equipment", "ancient artifact treasure", or "vehicle".
  23. Permanence
  24. World
  25. Set name
  26. Set number: Insert something like "wave 1", "master set", or "super secret exclusive".
  27. Booster name
  28. Basic move
  29. Basic range
  30. Basic attack
  31. Basic defense

After filling out the search fields, click the Search button or hit the Enter key on your keyboard to search the database. All matching cards found are displayed in the result table.
